Quality Garments or Accessories

  • All garments or accessories MUST be vintage or handmade. Trust and integrity are crucial to us and our customers.

    • Vintage items are at least 20 years old. Resources are available online to date a garment by its tag (try the Vintage Fashions Guilds’ Label Resource); however, if you have questions about a specific piece, please feel free to ask Jenna.

    • We reserve the right to remove any items from the sales floor that do not meet these requirements.

  • All garments must be washed, de-pilled (knits/sweaters), and unwrinkled before display.

  • All garments must be in saleable condition, meaning fit or able to be sold. Items may not have egregious tears, holes, stains, discoloration, etc. If we notice an item that is not representative of The Op Shop's quality standards, we will remove it from the sales floor.

    • If the item is extremely vintage or antique; we expect the item will have condition issues. You must note any condition issues on the tag AND the price must reflect any condition issues (ie. “sold as is: sunspot on the right shoulder”).

    • If the item is cropped or altered purposefully please add this to the item’s description on the tag.

Tagging & Pricing Your Products

  • All of your products must be tagged with your vendor/brand name.

  • All tags must include an item description and approximate era (i.e. 60’s, 90’s, etc.). This information helps us track trends and information that we compile into data and share with our vendors.

Vendor Rack & Display

All products, including garments, jewelry, and accessories, must be displayed in an organized and professional manner. When you pop up or restock please consider the following;

  • All garments are hung properly including being buttoned and/or zipped, so they appear neat & shoppers can see how a garment will look.

  • Gowns must be hung so they are not dragging on the floor.

  • Shoes must be displayed on a short table, not on the floor. This makes it hard to dust and clean our floors.

  • When organizing your rack, you can choose to organize by color, garment type, or size. Consider what will be most appealing to your customer.

  • We recommend using the “two-finger rule” for spacing on your rack, meaning two fingers should be able to fit between the hangers. Your rack or display should not be overstuffed. If we see that your rack is too full, we will remove some items off the sales floor until the rack is less full.

  • Please consider removing items that have been on your rack for a long time and freshen up your rack by exchanging them with a new product.

  • If you would like to rid yourself of some stock and decide you wish to have a sale please mark an item’s tags in a non-permanent way (we recommend colorful sticker dots) and make a corresponding sign on your rack that you can remove when the sale is over. Please notify staff of this sale so we can promote it on social media.

  • All products on the floor are seasonally specific and must accurately reflect the season that we are currently in (i.e. no coats in summer, no swimsuits in winter).
